DORMA’s Door Controls division restructures due to continued growth

Significant growth in the demand for DORMA’s door controls and associated products across the architectural hardware sector has led to the company increasing and restructuring its sales team. Sales for the Door Controls division have increased tremendously since the introduction of the Disability Discrimination Act helped by the compatibility of DORMA closers with the maximum opening force requirements set out in Approved Document M and BS8300. The UK will be split into two regions – North and South – each with a Manager heading up the local sales teams.

The new structure sees Andy Chapman appointed as Regional Sales Manager – North; covering the Midlands, Northern, Scottish and Northern Ireland territories. Andy has been a key player in the DORMA Door Controls Division for 18 years and his Northern Sales team will comprise Ian Stevenson; Calum Gibson; Rob Buckley; Tony O’Neill and Jerry Bordacs.

Since joining the company back in 1990, Andy has been instrumental in assisting the growth of DORMA; “Being part of such a long established sales team has enabled me to witness first hand the progression of the company”. He continues, “I am fully confident that this is yet another stage in our overall growth, and that all our joint experience will further facilitate development within the company as a whole as all five divisions, Door Controls, Automatics, Glass, Movable Walls and Service, work together effectively”.

Additionally Stephen Free has joined DORMA as Regional Sales Manager – South; covering London and the Home Counties, East and South West territories. His Southern Sales team will consist of Dick Watts; Nigel Cronin; Stephen Badgery; Meg Jones and Martin Ryder.
