A revolutionary movable wall for the modern workplace

The MOVEO lightweight semi-automatic movable wall system from DORMA is an exciting new development for designers and facilities managers concerned with maximising space utilisation in the modern workplace. It is a genuinely revolutionary system that has excellent sound insulation properties – but weighs in at around only half the weight of most conventional systems – making it extremely safe, easy and fast to operate.

MOVEO allows premises to take on a whole new flexible capability. One layout today, a different configuration tomorrow – the degree of design creativity that can be incorporated into a multi-functional layout configuration is almost limitless. Even the most complicated proportions can be aligned to individual requirements. Large meeting areas can be quickly sectioned off into smaller self-contained units – for simultaneous use if necessary – and just as quickly opened up again.

This degree of flexibility means that clients own in-house space can be used really efficiently, and it removes the need to hire expensive hotel rooms or special function suites for conferences or large sales meetings. This will make big savings and over time could well recover the cost of the initial MOVEO installation.

Traditionally, movable walls are heavy and can be difficult for some people to move into position. Not the MOVEO system. It is exceptionally light due primarily to the two outer shells of the panel element being made from a glass fibre reinforced composite board. A major contributing factor too, is that there is no traditional partition sealing mechanism, involving a heavy manual screw thread running down the inside of the partition.

Instead, MOVEO incorporates an automatic ComforTronic® control system which ensures problem-free securing and partition sealing every time. When the partition seals are in position, they seat with exactly the right contact pressure, which ensures partition stability and achieves an acoustic value of up to 55dB.

The DORMA MOVEO® system is available in three product variations to meet specific user requirements in different areas of the office. The Smart Line is ideal for average room heights and low sound insulation requirements (37 dB), while the Business Line offers a solution for moderate to high sound insulation values (47 and 55 dB) and has a more sophisticated finish. High acoustic values (55 dB) combined with high-quality, aesthetically pleasing surface finishes are offered by the Design Line.

When it comes to parking the MOVEO® panels, there are six stacking alternatives and each takes up a relatively small area. Their light weight means they have little effect on the structural integrity of the building. Even the narrow, integrated, mechanically coded track switches and curves ensure that the ceiling guides remain discreetly inconspicuous, enhancing the general aesthetics of the system in any office environment.
