New DORMA FASTRACK concept features at Aluminum Open House Event

DORMA, one of the world leaders in door controls and automatic products will be demonstrating their capability and expertise at the forthcoming Aluminium Open House Event being organised by Elumatec Ltd. A wide range of DORMA solutions for aluminium door fabricators will be on show, as well as information regarding their new FASTRACK supply and commission solution for fabricators. The company’s newly refurbished Showbus will also be making a stop at the event.

The Showbus is a customised 40-foot articulated lorry that features dedicated DORMA graphics on the exterior, while internally, twenty-one fully operable doors for demonstration purposes, and sophisticated LCD presentation screens, all of which provide an interior conducive to learning. The aim of this interactive mobile showroom is to encourage customers to consider which choice of door controls is right for any given situation – especially when it comes to meeting compliance with BS8300/ADM and the DDA.

DORMA’s ES200 automatic operator will also be demonstrated on the Showbus. Designed to meet the requirements of every automatic sliding door application, regardless of width or weight, the ES200 ensures the highest possible levels of safety. A new microprocessor automatically controls the opening and closing speeds of the door and, when combined with new rollers and a motor that is virtually silent in operation, the result is the smoothest ever action DORMA automatic door.

The exceptional operating performance of the ES200 is matched by its stylish, clean design contours, a comprehensive selection of colours and a diversity of surface finishes.

The ES200 automatic operator now comes with a new concept in service for participating fabricators. FASTRACK is a supply and commission solution, designed to reduce procurement times, improve service and add value, by offering participating fabricators the flexibility to mount the DORMA ES200 either on site or in the workshop. When fitted, a request is then made for a qualified DORMA engineer to visit and complete the installation by commissioning and carrying out a comprehensive quality and safety check. The entire process from initial order to the engineers visit should take no more than 10 days in total.

Both on the Showbus and in the main event area, DORMA will be demonstrating a number of its leading products and services – all of which are CE marked, meet the highest safety requirements currently applicable and conform to German and European standards.

There will be a comprehensive range of high-quality panic hardware fittings, offering both horizontal and vertical locking for doors in emergency exits and escape routes. These are applications in which safety, reliability and aesthetics are indispensable and DORMA’s PHA and PHB products fully cover the hardware requirements demanded by applications such as hospitals, universities, schools, concert halls, shopping malls, hotels and administrative buildings.

DORMA’s market leading TS93 will also be on display. Unlike conventional rack and pinion closers the TS93 cam-action closer has a unique linear drive mechanism and heart shaped cam which means that opening forces well below 30N can be achieved when adjusted to size EN3, the power requirement for fire doors. As a result, when the door is opened the opening force falls away rapidly after the first few degrees resulting in little resistance throughout the opening cycle, yet it will always ensure full and correct closure of the door – third party test evidence to support this is available. The result is a much easier and safer door operation from a versatile and elegant system that provides a high-quality architectural solution.

The RTS 85 transom concealed door closer, for both double and single action doors, is the ideal solution for installations where the door control has to be completely unobtrusive. No floor preparation is necessary, installation and setting adjustment is possible before fixing the door on site and the positive ‘zero’ position for double action doors makes adjustment very easy.
