DORMA to feature in latest Häfele architectural ironmongery catalogue
DORMA is continuing to develop its distribution network with carefully selected partners, adding value to its already highly respected product and service offering. The latest agreement is with Häfele who will stock an extensive range of DORMA’s glass products.
Since its origins almost 30 years ago, Häfele has established itself as one of the largest furniture fittings and architectural ironmongery distribution centres in the UK. Their specialist architectural ironmongery team is backed by nationwide field sales representatives, all of whom are members of the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers and hold the GAI Diploma Qualification. In addition the company produces its prestigious "Complete Häfele for Architectural Ironmongery" catalogue, which will also feature the DORMA range of glass products in 2009.
Häfele Product Manager, Gary King, is looking forward to the partnership with DORMA. “Right from the start Häfele’s guiding principle has been ‘finding better ways’. This business philosophy has led to new selling methods and innovative services that have proved to be extremely attractive to our customers. Our new relationship with DORMA fits right in with the ‘finding better ways’ philosophy and we are all looking forward to working together in the future”.
DORMA has for a long time recognised Háfele as a market leader in its sector. Mark Meagrow, Head of Glass Division at DORMA comments: “The Háfele operation is a natural fit for our policy of developing relationships with carefully selected preferred partners. The company offers national coverage with offices strategically placed throughout the UK and Ireland. In addition, Háfele has regular presence with architects through their CPD programme, which now incorporates the DORMA glass range”.
DORMA products that will be available from Häfele include the innovative DORMA MAME doors. MAME offers a remarkable choice of high quality surface finishes and effects as a result of elaborate sandblasting techniques, such as deep sandblasting; and a new process – flow sandblasting. When combined with an extensive selection of door and frame collections, the synergy that can be achieved with the existing DORMA range is an exciting proposition for architects and designers. The results are effectively works of art, which can create interesting finishes and bring total individuality to a room.
With toughened glass doors becoming increasingly popular, not only in commercial, educational, retail and institutional applications, but also for domestic situations, the sophisticated double pivot action DORMA VISUR swing door is also available through Häfele. Its hardware components are all located in the surrounding structures; and the complete absence of fittings means that the all-glass double-action door can match any room style with a totally discrete presence.
Complementing this is the DORMA BEYOND, a unique glass door system with swing or sliding alternatives, offering modern, attractive design with maximum safety and stability. With swing doors, there is no risk of pinched fingers, as the pivot-point of the patented door fitting is so close to the glass edge that the nip hazard usually associated with swing doors is completely eliminated.
For the contemporary office environment, the DORMA MANET flexible modular system offers architects and designers a free hand to create pivoting or sliding doors, space configuring glass partitions or customised furniture design. The key feature being the distinctive, countersunk, single-point fixings, which unobtrusively connect and support the modular system.
Also available from Häfele, and listed in the 2009 catalogue will be a wide range of DORMA glass door patch fittings and door rails, plus glass locks and strikes from the DORMA Junior and Studio ranges.
